ABL Launch Comprehensive New Home Insurance Product
Home insurance in Northern Ireland isn’t a new offering at ABL Group. We offer a range of household insurance products for individuals and families, however, we’ve recently reviewed the needs of our customers and worked with underwriting partner, Legal & General, to develop a bespoke new home insurance product that is exclusive to ABL Group customers in Northern Ireland. Our new home insurance solution offers comprehensive cover for homeowners at affordable rates, with a number of optional extras.
Ian McClure, Executive Director said:
“We are very pleased to announce the latest addition to our home insurance proposition, backed by one of the insurance market’s most recognised and trusted brands, Legal & General. Exclusively offered in Northern Ireland to ABL Group customers, this product offers enhanced covers, competitive pricing and overall great value for our customers.
We have undertaken product comparisons with many of the leading home insurance policies and negotiated a really comprehensive cover package to protect what is really valuable to our clients – their home and personal possessions. We can also offer home emergency cover and a robust family legal expenses product, provided by ARAG, to complete the offering.”

- Replacement locks cover
- Pedal cycles cover

- Family legal expenses cover
(*Limits apply on all extensions)
The cover on this home insurance policy is wide, making it one of the leading home insurance products available in the Northern Ireland market. Other advantages that customers can benefit from include:
- 24 hr claims service helpline with UK based handlers
- Flexible payment options, including 6 and 10-month finance plans
Family Legal Expenses Cover
The Family Legal Expenses cover, offered alongside the home insurance policy, is an exciting new client proposition. Underwritten by ARAG plc, part of the worldwide ARAG Group, this will give our personal insurance clients real peace of mind, should they become involved in various legal disputes. Examples include a dispute with their employer, a personal HMRC tax investigation, a boundary dispute with a neighbour or a claim for injury against a person or organisation. Such legal disputes can be expensive and stressful, and the policy will enable those affected to appoint lawyers to help deal with the issues in question without worrying about the costs. As an added benefit, the insurer also provides free helplines for legal and tax advice 24 hours a day with qualified staff there to help customers with their queries.
ABL Group Executive Director, Alan Watson said:
“We were very keen to provide a superior home insurance product and we really wanted to partner with a leading brand to give our customers maximum confidence. Legal & General coming on board is great news and we are very excited to be working with them. The 24/7 claims handling service based in the UK is a really important feature as emergencies often happen outside of normal office hours. The quotation process is relatively straightforward, and all quotes will be handled over the phone by one of our experienced personal lines experts, all of whom are based here in Northern Ireland."
