Throwing the spotlight on Leadership
This week’s Director of the Year Awards from the Institute of Directors (Northern Ireland) is one of the highlights of our year, which is why we’re so happy to return as sponsor of the ‘Large Company’ category once again.
The Director of the Year Awards take place annually and celebrate success and leadership talent. The awards ceremony itself gives the business community a chance to acknowledge the excellence and professionalism of local business leaders and is just one of the many ways we (and IoDNI) support business leaders in Northern Ireland.
Executive Director at ABL Group, Ian McClure added: “We’re proud to return as sponsor of the Large Company category at the Director of the Year Awards from the Institute of Directors NI. This is one of the most prestigious business awards in the country and we’re looking forward to hearing the stories of Northern Ireland’s most inspirational business leaders.”
Each year these awards shine a spotlight on the work of Directors who have overcome adversity and exceeded their goals to bring their businesses to a new level.
As an organisation which supports some of the biggest and best companies in Northern Ireland, we love getting to know more about our clients and our wider business community.
This year’s nominees for Director of the Year in a Large Organisation are:
● Buta Atwal, Wrightbus
● Cathal Geoghegan, Henderson Foodservice Ltd
● Leigh Meyer, Citi
● Paul Murnaghan, BT Northern Ireland
● Nick Whelan, Dale Farm
The stakes are high for any founder, chief executive, or business owner in Northern Ireland. Businesses have been pushed to the brink over the last few years, and as the economic forecast darkens, good leadership will make the difference between success and stagnation for many companies.
Many would say that this pressure is more keenly felt by directors of large companies, as larger supply chains and entire communities can be heavily dependent on these leading organisations.
We’re again proud to support such an important category this year when the role of business leaders has never been more important.
Congratulations to all the nominees for their fantastic work and we’re looking forward to getting inspired all over again by learning more about the winner’s story.
