ABL Group Marks Two Years of Lifesaving Support for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland
At ABL Group, we’re proud to celebrate the conclusion of our two-year charity partnership with Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI). Over this time, we’ve been able to raise more than £16,000, all in support of AANI’s lifesaving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).
Our fundraising efforts have been a true team endeavour, from coffee mornings and sponsored events to relay teams taking part in the Belfast Marathon and even a dragon boat race! It’s been incredible to see the enthusiasm and energy from everyone involved, and with the help of match funding from ABL Group, we were able to make a significant contribution to this essential service.
For those unfamiliar with Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, their HEMS ensures that, no matter where an emergency happens in Northern Ireland, those critically injured can receive treatment and be transported to a hospital for critical care within an hour. It’s an extraordinary service that has transformed thousands of lives since its inception. However, it’s also a costly one, requiring £6,850 each day just to operate.
As Colleen Milligan from Air Ambulance Northern Ireland shared with us:
“This fantastic fundraising from the staff at ABL Group will fund over two days of our service, helping a potential four critically ill or injured patients. It’s not only the medical crew who save lives but also the people who support the service. Well done, ABL Group, and sincere thanks for helping to sustain this service for future patients.”
Reading this, it’s hard not to feel a sense of pride in what we’ve achieved together. Our charity committee, in particular, has gone above and beyond to organise events and keep the momentum going throughout the partnership. It really has been a collective effort.
Events took place throughout the last two years including bake sales, participation in the Belfast Marathon and the recent DragonBoat Racing event!
At ABL Group, we’re all about teamwork and collaboration, values we share with our parent company, Brown & Brown Insurance. The ‘Power of We’ – the strength that comes from working together – has been at the heart of everything we do. This partnership with Air Ambulance Northern Ireland has really brought that to life, showing how much we can accomplish when our staff, clients, and community come together.
We’re honoured to have played a part in supporting such a vital service for Northern Ireland, and we’re excited to continue building on this sense of collaboration and teamwork in the future.
